Ritch & Conolly once again sponsored the annual ultra-marathon Off The Beaten Track (“OTBT”), now in its eighth year. OTBT remains the only off-road ultra-marathon in the Cayman Islands, covering 50km of Grand Cayman’s more challenging and unmarked terrain. Participants in the race cover a course that includes back roads and uncharted bush and beaches, either individually or as part of a relay team. The race, established by KRyS Global Executive Chairman and ultra-marathon runner Kenneth Krys, emulates the 156-mile, six-day Marathon des Sables held in the Sahara Desert.

The firm has given enthusiastic support to Off The Beaten Track over the years. Ritch & Conolly Partner Cherry Bridges has spearheaded the firm’s involvement as a sponsor. “The firm is proud to continue its support of this unique event and commends KRyS Global, participants, sponsors and beneficiaries on another successful year,” she said. In 2017, as in years past, staff operated a water stop along the route, cheering on and keeping track of passing participants in what has become a tradition for the firm. In addition to international charity Facing Africa, the YMCA in the Cayman Islands was the local beneficiary of this year’s race.
